Li-Ion battery's in Toyota hybrid cars

Toyota together with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co are currently developing Li-Ion battery's for hybrid car. Nowadays the breaking energy of hybrid cars is stored in heavier Ni-Mh batteries. The use of Li-Ion should mean there is more power and less weight in a car.
Li-Ion is already frequently being used in consumer electronics as laptops, portable mp3 players and so on. The step to hybrid car until now has not been made yet.
The production of Li-Ion batteries should start in 2010, although not all the Toyota hybrid cars will receive such privilege, under some circumstances Ni-Mh is still a better choice.
